Gap the Mind

Be Takerng Pattanopas is a Bangkok-based artist who works primarily in sculptures and installations. He is currently an assistant professor of art and design at Chulalongkorn University and Bangkok University in Thailand.

Gap the Mind is an expression of Pattanopas’ Thai cultural identity and his work in sculpture. Comprising a row of fabric shelters based on the umbrella shelters used by Thai monks, the lantern-like installations pulsate with energy-efficient LED light and emit a specially-designed soundscape, collectively evoking a sense of tranquillity. This work is a festival commission.

Gap the Mind is supported by Henryandpartners.
